Beginning as a group of horror film-makers… films designed to warp ones mind … Sensimilla Productions now exists as one of the most promising new production houses to Perth, Western Australia. Growing from a four strong ensemble, Sensimilla crafted short films in an unconventional manner. A crew that shares a passion for captivating the audience through dark and disturbing means, these young filmmakers utilise a variety of traditional, experimental and sometimes guerrilla film techniques, combined with the finest in bogus special effects in their approach to independent cinema. First collaborating in a film and video course, this collective of recent Edith Cowan University graduates combine their respective skills, interests and shared love of the strange to create visual imagery of the most unusual kind.
In their first year outside of University, Sensimilla has escalated to new heights producing a series of documentaries for local Perth and international artists and musicians, plus a series of music videos and coverage at fashion events. Incorporating new technologies and techniques in their ever growing empire, Sensimilla is now moving into the area of web production and having recently gaining entries in film festivals across the nation, this growth looks unlikely to stop anytime soon. Sensimilla is now a full operating production house available for all documentation and post-production needs.
As a small but concentrated production group, they are keen to utilise the readily available technology and audience that is enabled through developing digital mediums. Sensimilla hopes to expand their crew and talents and in the process redefine how a production house operates.
